What can you expect in 2014?
More posts I hope. Due to some rearranging of the logistical chairs on this Titanic known as the Banker’s Umbrella I plan to post more often. Or as my friend Aussie Torres likes to say MOAR!
There is no shortage of material. You should see my Moleskine notebook. It’s chock-a-block with blog post ideas. It’s just that I’m too often enjoying a drink and a good book when I should be tapping at the keyboard, but like Baldrick in the sketch above: I have a cunning plan. It involves this:
2. Investing. Kind of goes with the above, but more specific thingies on what to look out for when making your investments.
3. Guest blogs. I love ‘em. Keep ‘em coming people. I had some great guest bloggers in 2013 and will have some more in 2014. This means I get to sit back with a glass of wine and a brie cheese sandwich while someone else does all the work.
4. Social media and web strategy by banks and financial services companies. In 2013 I picked apart JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and UBS and may I say, with some success. The fact is finance companies and banks are blatantly useless at it. If they do get started on social media they seem to hire blatantly useless people to manage their blatantly useless social media strategy. Basically this stuff writes itself, they shouldn’t give me so much material.
So there you have it. It'll be a fun ride. I'd like to throw in a competition at some point too but there are logistics to such an endeavour, so we'll see about that.
If you are new to the Banker's Umbrella then be sure to follow me on Twitter because that's where the magic happens and the fun begins.
On Wednesday (day after tomorrow) I'll have a brilliant guest blogger. Phil Young from AdvisorLounge, one of the sharpest minds regarding the direction of financial services. Do not miss it.
